Enriching Daily Life, Together with BMC
It is my pleasure to introduce myself as Changho Shin, President of the Busan Metropolitan Corporation.
Since its establishment of the corporation in January 1991, Busan Metropolitan Corporation (BMC; President Shin Chang-ho) has always done its best to contribute to stabilizing citizens’ living conditions, enhancing welfare, and developing local communities.
We have provided the foundations for hopes and dreams to newlyweds and young people by building Happiness Housing apartments, creating precious homes for non-homeowners who yearned for their own houses through public sale housing, and offering warm nests for the public through unified public rental housing initiatives.
We have also sought to enhance the quality of life for residents through tailored housing welfare programs that cater to their needs.
Furthermore, we laid the groundwork for the local economy’s growth and created numerous jobs by developing industrial complexes. Built upon our various efforts, including urban regeneration projects that breathe new life into the original downtown area and public construction projects that build landmarks within the city, BMC has grown to become the public corporation that represents the region, propelling Busan's vibrant economic growth and achieving value for the public good.
BMC aligns itself with the Busan Metropolitan Government’s urban policy, envisioning the future and helping Busan become the global hub it deserves to be.
We promise to establish an urban economy ecosystem to complete future next-generation industrial complexes, including the Centum 2 District Urban High-Tech Industrial Complex, Gadeok-do Airport Complex City, and Eco Delta Smart City 2. We are committed to empower Busan’s competitive strength by advancing a sustainable management system and enhancing our ESG management process.
To achieve our goal, we will remain proactive in engaging and cooperating with internal and external stakeholders and realize BMC’s vision with a mindset of change and innovation that taps into collective intelligence, helping Busan rise as a charming city on par with global metropolises.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the citizens of Busan for their continued interest and unwavering support for the Busan Metropolitan Corporation. Moving forward, we remain fully committed to ensuring that our initiatives in housing welfare and regional development directly contribute to enhancing the happiness and well-being of Busan’s citizens.
